A Day That I Will Never Forget!

Today I am going to tell you about an important lesson that I learned. My lesson that I learned is that you should never touch anything if you don’t know what it is. It is a very interesting story.

My brother is allergic to wasp, bees, and any other stinging insect. If he gets stung by any of these bugs he has to get an epi-pen injected in his leg. An epi-pen has a steroid in it, and no not the kind of steroid that athletes use illegally. The steroid numbs his body so he will not swell up and stop breathing.

One day I was bored and I saw the epi pen and decided to read the instructions just in case my parents weren’t home and we had to use it. Well I had my thumbs on the ends and I was rolling it as I read and apparently I was pressing the ends to hard and injected the epi-pen in my thumb. I felt this weird rush in my body and ran to my bedroom. I jumped onto my bed to see if I could sleep it off instead of going to my parents. That was a dumb thing to do. I got a napkin and put some ice in it and put it directly on my thumb. My mom’s friend, Cayenne, walked in and saw me on the couch. She asked me what was wrong and I told her that I accidentally stabbed myself with an epi-pen. She went and got my parents and told them about what happened and they rushed in. Cayenne immediately told my parents that she was a nurse and she took care of it all. I was very lucky that Cayenne was there. She told my mom that after you use an epi-pen you have to put it in an empty jug and duck tape it shut. She did exactly that and threw it away.

My mom called the hospital and asked if I should do anything else. My thumb was a dark blue where the needle went in and purple all around it. Cayenne said that I should be fine tomorrow and that the needle just hit my bone barely and it will bruised for a few days.

That is a day that I will never forget, and not to mention a great lesson, too.

A Blessing From God

I would hate to lose my sight because when it is pitch-black I can’t see anything. It feels like my eyes are closed and I try and touch them, but I end up poking my eyes. I get mad and frustrated and I would just hate to lose my sight.

If I lose my sight, then I would think that my life is over. I would have to get a guide dog, I would have to quit all of the sports that I play, I would have to go to a different school and the list goes on and on. I couldn’t play with my friends, I couldn’t get a driving license, and the worst of it all is that I couldn’t see my family’s faces anymore. There are advantages to being blind though. For example I wouldn’t care what I would look like and I would be more considerate of others.

Even though I have to wear contacts I still treasure what God has blessed me with. Other can’t see so I am glad that God has given me sight. I love my sight because I can wake up to my loving family every morning, and I don’t have to ask my friends to repeat what they say because I can’t read their lips.

I thank God everyday for what he has blessed me with and so should you. It has been a true blessing from god.

The Best Skiing Trip Ever

As I got up one morning to get dressed for skiing my brother came in dripping wet. I asked him why and he said because he went swimming. I thought that was weird, but I ignored it and got dressed for the awesome day ahead of me.

We took pictures all the way from the hotel to the mountains. It was beautiful! When we finally got there we had to get our ski boots on. It was hard! Then we had to get on the shuttle which was even harder. If you weren’t holding on to something then you would fall. I learned the hard way. When we finally got to the first hill we all looked up and said that we weren’t getting on that one.  It was huge! We were lost so we asked for directions. We found out that it was the advanced hill and there was kids younger than me on it! Then, somebody told us where the bunny slopes were so we could start off. Then my mom and I got tired of the bunny slope and went to the next hill. There was a big difference! It was called Strawberry Hill.

My mom had a backpack on with snacks and water so she sat more forward on the seat of the ski lift. She doesn’t like being really high up so she was a little scared. there was 2 parts of the hill. One part was really steep and the other one wasn’t so bad and I was the first one to go down from my family. I was going really fast and I couldn’t stop very well so I had to fall so I didn’t run into anybody. My hat, ski, and my pole fell. I rolled 5 times. It was fun, but everything was far away from each other so I had to take off my other ski so I could walk to get everything. Eventually all of my family came over to Strawberry Hill.My dad was falling the whole way.

It was time to go so we took our skis off and rushed to the shuttle so we could get back to the hotel for some warm and delicious hot co-coa.
